I am genuinely proud to call Rockingham home. I grew up here, I went to school here, and now my husband and I are raising our family here.

Like so many local families, we welcomed our daughter at Rockingham Hospital. I know the comfort that comes from receiving high-quality care close to home, surrounded by the people and community you know and trust.

That's why I'm pleased to share that the Cook Labor Government has committed $1 million to develop a master plan for the future of Rockingham General Hospital.

We have a growing and ageing population, and the delivery of AUKUS will bring even more families to Rockingham. This is an important investment that will ensure our hospital can continue meeting the needs of our growing community for decades to come.

This work builds on the significant investments already underway at the hospital, including the new 10-bed Mental Health Emergency Centre, which will improve access to specialist mental health care closer to home.

Rockingham Hospital has been caring for local families for 50 years. It has welcomed thousands of babies into the world, treated countless emergencies, and supported generations of locals through some of life's most challenging moments.

This $1 million commitment is an exciting step towards ensuring our hospital continues to grow alongside our community.
